The CK Daily – Birthday Cheers & Solo Dad Days

Happy Wednesday!

On Sunday we went to a special birthday party for my wife’s longtime family friend who turned 80 years old! This friend owns a local skating rink that’s been opened for decades and of course the party was held at the rink. The kids had a lot of fun skating, and we enjoyed catching up with folks we hadn’t seen in a long time and enjoyed some cake as well. It was definitely a special moment!

This morning, I helped my wife and oldest pack up their van as they headed out on a long trip to East Lansing, Michigan to attend the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals. My younger daughter and I will be staying home as she still has another week of school. We’ll be wishing them a safe journey and hoping that they make it to the top! We’ll definitely miss them, and it’ll be interesting to see how well my younger daughter will handle things without her mom this week! Wish me luck as well!

Hope you have a great day and wonderful week!

Cris

The CK Daily – From Florida Fun to Floor Fiasco

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

I’m back from my trip to Florida! It was so nice to spend time with my friend and her family. We ended up getting a couple days of great weather and it was nice to enjoy a bit of time outside. The area where they live is truly so beautiful!

Unfortunately, I came home to a less-than-pleasant surprise: a leaking refrigerator had caused significant water damage in my kitchen. At first, I didn’t realize how bad it was, but within a few days, sections of my floor started buckling. A remediation team came out to assess the situation, and it turns out the water traveled farther than I thought. They had to pull up a lot of the flooring—it took hours!

Now I’ve got industrial fans and giant dehumidifiers running 24/7 in hopes of drying things out so we can begin the reconstruction process soon.

Here’s to hoping the rest of the week is a little less eventful! Wishing you all a smooth and productive week ahead!

Rebecca

The CK Daily – A Weekend in Dollywood

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. This weekend was a packed one, but lots of fun! We spent the weekend in Dollywood/the mountains as we celebrated my cousin’s upcoming graduation. We stayed at a very nice cabin very close to the Dollywood entrance, which was super ideal! I had never been to Dollywood before, and I really enjoyed it! I couldn’t do much riding, since I’m pregnant, but still had a great time with the family and our little guy. He loved all of the kid play areas, as well as a ride where we went around a track and he got to drive. He’s been rather into cars lately and loves driving, so it was perfect for him.

The cabin we stayed in was also super nice! It was very spacious, had several amenities and had a stunning view of the mountains. I’d certainly stay there again!

Have you ever been to Dollywood? Do you enjoy the mountains?

Friday’s here and it’s National Barbecue Day! Whether you’re a grill master or a takeout fan, what’s your go-to BBQ favorite to kick off the weekend?

In This Issue: Homebound | Deal of the Day | Wall Plate Surface Mount Box | Network Cable Management | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Homebound

Hello, CK Friends! Happy Friday!

Can you believe we’re already halfway through May? How’s the month going for you so far?

It’s been an eventful one on my end. Here in the Philippines, we had our local elections this week. Election Day is a big deal here—not just because we get to vote, but because it often turns into a mini family reunion! Since it’s a non-working holiday, many people head back to their hometowns to cast their votes and then spend the rest of the day catching up with loved ones.

My brother, who works in another city, wasn’t able to make the trip home this time due to work conflicts. But he’s already planning to take a longer break come Christmas. Gotta love how strong family ties run deep in Filipino culture!

How about you—what are your favorite things to do when the whole family is together? Whether it’s eating, watching movies, or just sitting around chatting, I’d love to hear how you make the most of family time.

Have a great weekend ahead!

Kat

The CK Daily – Fun activities and Birthday Celebrations!

Happy Thursday everyone!

This week is flying by! Tonight, I’m finally doing something I’ve been meaning to do all semester, Yoga in the Galleries at UGA’s art museum! I kept saying I’d go, but school got in the way most of the time. Now that things have slowed down, a few friends and I are making it happen. I’m so excited to relax and stretch in a fun setting.

This weekend is also extra special; my boyfriend is celebrating his 21st birthday! We’ll be spending time with his family and I’m looking forward to good food, cake, and spending time together. Hibachi is always his birthday dinner of choice, so we get dinner and a show – what more could you want! Fingers crossed for sunny weather so we can hang by the pool or sneak in a game of pickleball!

I hope your week has been fun and full of things to look forward to!

Learning Center Article – Why use SFP instead of ethernet?

The essence of an SFP module lies in its ability to support different media types—both fiber and copper—via a single interface. This adaptability is crucial as network needs expand, allowing for seamless transitions between various connection types without extensive system overhauls. SFP module RJ45 and SFP transceiver RJ45 cater to familiar twisted-pair cabling, while SFP module fiber options enhance connection speeds and reach, surpassing traditional Ethernet capabilities.

The CK Daily – Sweet Core Memories

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

This weekend I celebrated my second Mother’s Day with my husband and little one, and it’s one I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Here’s a quick recap:

  • A simple morning at one of my fav breakfast places, First Watch.
  • A relaxing afternoon at home for nap time.
  • Strawberry picking for the first time with our little guy, and he LOVED it.
  • A simple dinner at Culver’s, BUT it comes with the memory of a lifetime. Here it is: I was sitting in the booth with my little one and I looked over at him and asked for a kiss (which he’s never really given). He grabbed my face with his two hands and went in for the sweetest, most slobbery kiss. My heart melted immediately, and if you’ve ever seen the movie Inside Out, I’m certain that this will be a core memory for a lifetime.

I am so grateful for these memories with him and for the ability to be able to celebrate with him.

Do you have any core memories from when your kiddos were younger? I’d love to hear them.

Ashley
