The CK Daily – Family First, Always
Hello CK friends!
Time is flying—can you believe it’s Friday again already? We just had a long weekend, and now we’re diving right back into another weekend.
Speaking of the long weekend, my original plans totally changed last minute. We had to make an unexpected trip to the city so I could bring my dad to see a dermatologist. He has a keloid on his chest that developed an open wound from constant itching, and it’s been painful for him lately. Thankfully, it wasn’t anything serious—just some antibiotics and a special cream, as prescribed by the doctor.
But here’s something I didn’t know: the dermatologist told us keloids can be hereditary. Now I’m low-key worried that either my brother or I might develop them, too. My dad said it started as a tiny pimple and just kept growing—now it’s about 3 inches long and has spread into three keloids! Even if they’re removed, they might just grow back since he’s keloid-prone. Hoping and praying they stop growing and that neither my brother nor I inherit the tendency.
Before heading back home, I squeezed in a quick dinner date with my mom and dad. It wasn’t a complete family outing (my brother couldn’t make it), but I’m still grateful for that little moment we had together.
Sometimes, the plans we make just don’t go the way we imagined—but they lead to something meaningful anyway.
How about you? Did any of your long weekend plans shift last minute? How did you end up spending the holiday?

While it promises added convenience, it also marks a significant shift in how members interact with the store—and potentially, how they spend.
- Google Workspace users are going to see a lot more of Gemini’s efforts to summarize their emails. Gmail now creates summaries automatically for complex threads, and they’ll appear above the emails themselves.

- Dunkin’ is bringing summer vibes with two new limited-time treats: the Orange N’ Vanilla Specialty Donut and the Pink Spritz Refresher. The donut features a glazed cake base with a drizzle of vanilla icing for a nostalgic twist, while the Pink Spritz Refresher blends guava, orange, and passion fruit flavors with sparkling water for a tropical kick.
