The CK Daily – A Murder Mystery Dinner

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are all having a great week. Have you ever attended a murder mystery dinner? This weekend my husband and I got the opportunity to attend a dinner that was actually a surprise murder mystery dinner and it was SO fun! It was slightly chaotic at first figuring out what was going on, how “investigation” worked, and what questions to ask…but once we caught on, it was a blast!

It was so fun seeing everyone play along and really get into figuring out who the true killer was and the actors, all selected at random, did a great job taking on the roles of their characters. Have you ever attended a murder mystery dinner or party? Did you like it? What did you like about it or what didn’t you like about it? I’d love to hear what you think!

The CK Daily – HHI Adventures

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! I’m actually writing this from Hilton Head Island as I’m here enjoying a little vacation time.

I mentioned last week that things feel really heavy in my life these days. Quite honestly, it seems like they just get heavier by the day the more details I learn about an upcoming situation that is completely out of my control, but that will dramatically affect the lives of some of the people I love most in this world. It’s a situation I would have never chosen for them and, after doing thorough research, I have many fact-based concerns. Fear and anxiety have been fighting to be in the drivers seat lately, but I’m intentionally fighting back and spending a lot of time praying and trusting God that things will work out the way they are meant to!

The whole situation has me in a season of reevaluating my own life and, in particular, where I live. There’s so much that I love about my town, but I think a change may be on the horizon. I’m not ready to make any decisions just yet, but I have looked at a few properties here on the island over the past few days that are within my budget and are very appealing! Moving here has always been a dream, and one that I’ve given far more serious consideration to over the past few months so we will see how things unfold!

Happy Monday, everyone! We hope your week is off to a sweet start because today is National Chocolate Day! Whether you prefer dark, milk, or white, take a moment to indulge in your favorite treat. Here’s to a great week ahead, filled with productivity and a little extra chocolatey goodness!

The CK Daily – Halloween Festivities

Happy Monday!

Treats were the themes for this weekend and oh boy the kids got their fill of candy. On Friday we went to the elementary school’s trunk or treat and the kids enjoyed running around getting candy and eating the candy! It was packed. Then on Saturday we attended the local minor league team’s “Flick or Treat” where the kids got their fill of candy and got to watch Scooby Doo 2 on the field.

To cap out our treat fest weekend we volunteered at a Trunk or Treat event where we partnered with another church that hosted the event. At this event our family manned the cotton candy machine and if there’s anything I learned this weekend, people absolutely go crazy for cotton candy! We could not make it fast enough. Next year the plan is to make a large batch before the event. Lessons learned I guess.

Overall, it was a fun-filled weekend and the weather wasn’t too bad either. It’s really starting to feel like fall in Georgia with cooler temps and the color changes in the leaves.

I hope you have a great day and a wonderful week!

The CK Daily – Tech Throwbacks & IT Laughs

Happy Thursday!

Did you know that the first-ever email was sent over 50 years ago in 1971? It wasn’t a fancy marketing email or a greeting from a friend—it was a simple string of letters, sent from one computer to another sitting right beside it. The sender was Ray Tomlinson, who, funnily enough, used the “@” symbol for the very first time in email addresses, which has since become an iconic part of modern communication. Technology has come a long way since then, evolving into the high-speed, wireless, and cloud-powered world we know today.

And how about some IT trivia? The first 1GB hard drive, introduced in 1980, weighed over 500 pounds and cost a whopping $40,000! Now, we can carry terabytes of data right in our pockets, thanks to the magic of modern IT innovation.

Feeling the need for a laugh? Here’s a quirky IT joke to get your day going:

Why was the computer cold?

Because it left its Windows open! 🖥️

Or how about this one:

Why do programmers prefer dark mode?

Because light attracts bugs! 🪲

So, keep things cool today, IT pros, and remember—if things get a little buggy, just reboot and try again!

The CK Daily – Fantasy Football Update

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone has had a great weekend. I think a while ago I mentioned that I play fantasy football with my family each year. Well year after year, it’s become a pretty competitive league! I went into the draft with high hopes and the number 1 pick…and boy have things gone WAY down hill for me. I drafted Christian McCaffrey #1 overall, and that hasn’t worked out for me as he hasn’t played a single second all season. And the rest of my team is SO hit or miss. If I put them in, they score minimal points, if I put them on the bench they score 20+ points…drives me nuts!

Up until this week, I was 0-5. Not a strong start! This week, I was able to pull of my first win…and not by much! Really hoping that this week is the turn around point for my team and that the season is going to start looking up for me. Any player tips and suggestions you have, send them my way. I need them!
