But gratitude has a way of bringing us back to what’s important and shifting our focus to the positive.

Whether it’s the support of loved ones, the simple joys of a job well done, or even the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s day, there is always something to be thankful for. Happy Thursday!

This past Tuesday most of our team gathered together in the office for our annual Croctober event! We had a chili cook-off, dessert competition, lots of carnival games, and a ton of fun. We had a total of 8 chilis entered into the competition and the voting was tough, but by a landslide…Mandy took home the Golden Spoon! Maybe we can convince her to share the recipe. 😜

It’s always such a joy to gather together in the office with the entire team and enjoy fellowship, competition and fun and games. Enjoy some photos below of the fun!

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you’re having a great week! Yesterday the team gathered for Croctober, which we will share more about tomorrow. It’s always great to gather together and enjoy time with others. There’s just nothing like community.

As I’m sure you’ve seen, much of the state of Florida and several surrounding are preparing for yet another Hurricane heading their way. I really feel no greater loss than being able to do nothing to help them stop this storm or prepare. I grew up worrying about storms hitting Florida for the sake that my great-grandmother lived in the Florida Keys and now my parents live there, so my anxiety about it all is still present. If you’re in those areas or impacted by those areas, I am sending my thoughts and prayers and will hope to find ways to support you however I can following the storms.

The CK Daily – A Servant Heart

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is off to a great start to the week!

I am writing this on Monday as I’ll actually be out of the office on Tuesday to spend some time helping those in need in Augusta, GA. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know that Hurricane Helene caused unspeakable devastation across many states here in the Southeast. It has been really hard to watch the coverage and see how many people are suffering and how many people lost everything. It has made life feel pretty heavy lately, but at the same time, it has been incredible to see the citizens of this country come together in a time of crisis and do what it takes to help those who are suffering.

My friend and I are attempting to leverage our hiking Instagram account for good and ran a couple of donation drives Monday night. We’re working with a nonprofit in Augusta and will be delivering the goods to them on Tuesday, and then going out into the community to deliver supplies to the elderly and homebound. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to serve and will continue to look for ways to help as there is a long road ahead for those recovering from this horrific storm.

The CK Daily – Practice Pays Off!

Happy Monday!

My daughter had a pretty important Karate belt test this week for her next belt color. This one was particularly important as passing it would allow her to join the next advanced class. She had been practicing daily for several weeks and was confident going into the test. Without a doubt her hard work paid off and she passed! This test was particularly difficult and unfortunately 4 kids did not pass the test. I’m proud of her and I hope it shows her that diligent practice pays off in the end.

This upcoming Tuesday we’re holding our annual Croctober celebration onsite at our office. It involves a Chili cook off, games, and delicious food from crock pots. This is a great time to catch up with folks since many of us work remotely.

We’re still praying for those impacted by Hurricane Helene and supporting relief efforts. The reports from the major media outlets don’t seem to be justly covering the affected people and areas. I’ve been watching youtube videos from those directly impacted and it’s truly horrifying. If you have the means, please support those impacted. And as always, prayers are much appreciated.
