Happy Friday & Happy World Smile Day! There’s nothing more contagious than a smile. We hope you can share a few of them today! Have a wonderful weekend.

The CK Daily – The Mystery of the Closed Convertible Top

Happy Friday!

Have you ever been driving on a perfect day and seen a cool looking convertible go by, then notice their top was up? Can someone please explain to me what kind of monster does that? It’s getting really pretty out as of late and I keep seeing it happen.

Now, I have owned a convertible in the past and as you might be able to tell, still miss it. Owning a convertible means you are the kind of person who want to enjoy what life gives you, and you are even willing to endure additional wind noise and cooler or hotter temps than those standard car people. So why, when it’s their time to shine, do they deny themselves and cause the rest of us to lose faith in the fun having convertible types?

Happy Wednesday! We are halfway through the week, and we hope it’s been a good one so far. What’s left on your to-do list that you hope to tackle this week?

In This Issue: The Meaning of Community | Deal of the Day | Great Lakes 45U Two Post Rack | Ethernet Cable Colors | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – The Meaning of Community

Good morning & Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are having a great week. I’ll be honest, the impacts of the hurricane have been heavy on my heart this week. It is all hitting so close to home. My younger brother attends college at Valdosta State University. He was able to get to safety on campus in his residence hall, but boy was it a scary site that he woke up to the following day. The photos and videos he sent us of the town…just heart breaking. Thankfully, he was able to find his way out and home and is spending some time with us while power is being restored.

Then, we continue to see the where we just moved from, the Greenville/Spartanburg area, hit also pretty hard and without power, even still for many. Western North Carolina just has my heart breaking. I spent my summers there in college and have so many personal ties there of friends that I made during those times. There are still so many things unknown for what is going on there and I know many are still looking for ways that we can help. If you know of ways that we can make a direct impact into those communities, please share them.

Storms are always a tough thing to understand and navigate. There is so much power in them but the amount of control that we have to give up and trust that there is a greater plan for whatever we may face in them is hard. You want to tie things down, get everyone to shelter, hope trees stand strong, that lives are not lost…so many things. It’s heavy.

At the end of it all, I think it comes down to community. Our local community here has recently dealt with a local school shooting that, as they all are, was devastating. And the community has rallied to support the families impacted, the students impacted, the teachers impacted, the officers, everyone involved. With Hurricane Helene, the same thing. People in the community are literally boots on the ground giving everything they have of themselves to help their neighbors, people they don’t even know, but people they consider a community. There’s just nothing like it.

All this said, things lately are heavy. There’s so much going on in the world. I hope that you take some time to reflect on the things going on around you and just take some time to debrief. It can be overwhelming. Here for you, thinking of you, grateful for you. The CK Daily community is truly a unique one and we’re so grateful.

Ashley

Happy Tuesday, Happy October, & Happy Taco Day! What are the odds that taco day falls on a Tuesday this year?! Are you a taco fan? What are your favorite toppings?

In This Issue: Hope for a Quiet October | Deal of the Day | Yealink WHC60 Wireless Charger | SFP-10G-LR vs. SFP-10G-LR-S | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Hope for a Quiet October

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! We made it to October! I’m so ready for it the weather to start actually feeling like Fall so that I can pull out my cozy sweaters!

It’s been a crazy past few days here in Georgia (and surrounding states). Hurricane Helene rolled through last week and the forecast was showing my area taking a pretty direct hit, but the storm made an unexpected turn in the middle of the night which took it further east, sparing my area but devastating many others. My heart breaks for all of those affected by the storm! The destruction is unreal.

The on Sunday morning, in a very bizarre event, a chemical plant in Conyers, GA caught and burned for nearly the whole day, releasing tons of chemicals into the air. The plant isn’t terribly far from where I live, and the winds blew the toxic smoke right into my town causing an eerie haze with a strong chlorine scent in the air. It was honestly pretty creepy looking and concerning not really knowing what you’re breathing in and I certainly felt some physical effects from it. Hoping that the winds will dissipate the toxic chemicals and we can get back to breathing a little easier around here.

With all the recent events, I’m hoping we can catch a break and enjoy a quiet October!

Rebecca
