CK Daily – 09.09.2024

September 9, 2024 by CablesAndKits

Happy Monday! We hope you had a wonderful weekend. Last week was a bit of an off week with it being a shorter week – so here’s to getting back in the swing of things this week!

In This Issue: Quite Moments | Deal of the Day | Meraki 8 x 10G Uplink Module | The Best Power Cable for Office Use | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Quite Moments

Happy Monday!

This weekend was a nice blend of hobby and family time. I got to participate in a Pokémon Build and Battle event with my wife and my oldest daughter. We all had fun and it’s always a thrill to see how new cards and strategies play out! Other than that, I enjoyed a quiet dinner with my parents. It’s those simple, quiet moments that really recharge you, right?

As we roll into another week, I’m reminded of how the small things can make a big difference in our mood and outlook. Whether it’s sharing a meal with loved ones or shuffling a deck of Pokémon cards, it’s little things like this, spending time with friends and family, that bring joy to life.

I hope you have a great day and a wonderful week!

Happy Friday! While short, this week has felt quite long. We hope that you have a wonderful weekend full of rest and time with loved ones.

In This Issue: Happy….Monday?! | Deal of the Day | Cat6 Ethernet Cable | Fiber Optic Connectors | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Happy….Monday?!

Happy Monday! I mean… Friday!

I normally send an update on Monday, but with Labor Day happening, I didn’t get a chance to. And what a week and weekend it has been! I have been down for the count with Covid this past week and it hasn’t been fun at all. I tried my best to quarantine, but somehow my wife ended up getting sick as well. The kids, luckily, were immune to all this madness and acted like their regular old selves. We are on the mend though and the only lasting impact is a little bit of confusion with my sense of taste and a little bit of fatigue. Needless to say, we got some rest over the weekend and I am very thankful it was a 3 day weekend. It’s crazy how one extra day off shifts the mood of the week. Tuesday feels like Monday and Thursday feels like a Friday.

Anyways, other than getting over the yuck, I’m looking forward to Fall. It seems like it’s been a long and heated summer and I can’t wait for fall weather. Fall Festivals are my favorite, my little town is holding one towards the end of the month. Looking forward to getting out and enjoying something pumpkin spiced and cooler weather!

I hope you have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

The CK Daily – Sandy Toes!!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week. It’s a bit of an odd feeling week so far with the long weekend making this a short week. It’s always a weird adjustment for me to figure out because Tuesday feels like a Monday and then the rest of the week is all wacky.

This week we’re spending time at Panama City Beach! It’s very beautiful here and ever since yesterday, there are very few people here so it makes for a nice stay. We’re here hanging out with my husband’s sister who we don’t get to see as often as she’s stationed in New Mexico. So it’s been so nice to be able to just relax, hang out, play games, and of course…enjoy the beach!

I’ve shared this before, but there is something so different about the beach. I have mentioned before that my family is very blessed to have a house in the Florida Keys. It’s a beautiful place that I’ve gotten to enjoy lots of time at, but it is not the beach. There’s just something so different about the waves crashing on the shore and walking through the sand that you don’t get down there and boy did I miss it!

I think my favorite part of the week will be watching our little guy put his toes in the sand and have the time of his life playing in it. He loved it! So much so, that he keeps attempting to eat it haha. I feel so grateful for these memories that I get to make with him, the adventures we all get to go on and the time we get to spend with loved ones in times where relationships are so important.

Hope you have a great week!

Ashley

The CK Daily – Football, Hiking & a Weekend of Fun

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Although it was a long weekend, it feels like it absolutely flew by! I’m a huge college football fan so I very much enjoyed getting to watch some games this weekend. The return of college football definitely makes it feel like the unofficial start of Fall. Of course the weather was still hot here in Georgia, but I think we’re about to get a little break from the scorching temperatures. It seems like this time of year goes by so fast. Pretty sure we’ll blink and it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I did get outside a bit this weekend as well, which is another favorite activity! My 4 year old niece and I hiked the Laurel Ridge Trail Loop located at Smithgall Woods State Park near Helen, GA. It’s a 1.6 mile hike that leads to a beautiful view of Yonah mountain. My niece did so well on the hike! She walked the whole thing and never complained once! She loves hiking and I’m so excited about the hikes we’ll be able to do together as she gets older!

The CK Daily – The History of Labor Day

Happy Friday! Today we wanted to take some time to share about the history of Labor Day.

Labor Day, celebrated on the first Monday of September, is more than just a long weekend—it’s a day dedicated to honoring the hard work and dedication of American workers who have shaped our country. Here’s a quick look at the history behind this meaningful holiday:

  • The idea of Labor Day was born during the Industrial Revolution, a time when American workers faced long hours, poor working conditions, and little recognition. Labor activists and unions began advocating for a holiday to honor the vital role of the American workforce.
  • The first Labor Day was celebrated in New York City on September 5, 1882, organized by the Central Labor Union. Thousands of workers paraded through the streets to promote fair working conditions and the dignity of labor.
  • Following the Pullman Strike, a nationwide railroad strike, and the deaths of workers during the protests, Congress passed legislation making Labor Day a national holiday, signed into law by President Grover Cleveland in 1894.
  • Originally meant to honor the contributions of American workers, Labor Day has evolved into a day for family gatherings, community events, and relaxation, symbolizing the end of summer and the beginning of fall.
  • Today, Labor Day serves as a reminder of the progress made through workers’ rights movements and the ongoing efforts to ensure fair treatment and conditions for all workers.

Let’s take a moment this Labor Day to reflect on the hard work and determination that built our nation and continues to drive it forward! Enjoy the long weekend.
