CK Daily – 09.17.2024

September 17, 2024 by CablesAndKits

Happy Tuesday & Happy National IT Professionals Day! Today honors the venerable geeks of the world we all rely on to keep us connected. IT Pros…we love ya!

In This Issue: Taking the Stairs | Deal of the Day | 6U LINIER Fixed Wall Mount Cabinets | 24-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switches | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Taking the Stairs

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I know Ashley often shares what she’s reading in the CK Daily, so today I’m following her lead and talking about what I’m currently into! And by “reading,” I mean listening—because let’s be honest, audiobooks are so convenient!

I’ve been listening to “Take the Stairs” by Rory Vaden, and it’s really made me think about how I approach challenges. The book dives deep into the value of discipline and doing the hard things now to make life easier in the long run. Vaden emphasizes that successful people are the ones willing to do what others won’t in the short term so they can have what others can’t in the long term.

The idea of “taking the stairs” is a great metaphor for choosing the harder, but ultimately more rewarding, path. It’s been a helpful reminder that while shortcuts might seem appealing, they often lead to mediocre results. Real success is built on consistent effort and facing the tasks we’d rather avoid.

While I’m all for books on discipline and hard work, I also believe in working smarter, not harder. It’s important to push through discomfort, but we should also be seeking out more efficient ways to get things done. My takeaway so far is that both discipline and smart strategies play a key role in achieving success!

Happy Monday! We hope you had a wonderful weekend. Did you do anything exciting? We’d love to hear about it!

The CK Daily – Oreo Coke…Did you give it a try?

Happy Monday!

I tried the new Oreo flavored Coke so you don’t have to. Surprisingly the Oreo flavor stands out pretty decently, but I still found this particular flavor to be a little weird. It’s like they mixed vanilla coke with a little bit of artificial chocolate. It’s better than some of the other coke flavors, but it doesn’t hit like the classic flavor, at least that’s my opinion of it.

Other than that, I had a very quiet weekend of house cleaning and watching the Pokémon TCG Baltimore regional championships. My daughter went to a Gwinnett Braves game with her Grandmother and came home with a baseball in hand. A foul ball was hit in her direction and a kind man gave her the baseball when she wasn’t able to catch it. Definitely a solid memory of hers for sure! Looking forward to cooler weather this week and some fall festivities coming up.

I hope you have a great day and a wonderful week!

The CK Daily – Making Memories (and so. much. driving.)

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday!

I think I shared last week that we were spending some time at the beach with my husband’s sister and would be traveling to see my parents, grandma, and great-aunt this week. Well, we made it! So. Much. Traveling. But all worth it!

I haven’t seen my great-aunt in a year, so it’s been nice to see her and hang out and just catch up. We’ve talked throughout the year, but there’s something about being able to talk and hang out with someone in person that’s just different. Plus, what’s even more special is she actually get’s to meet Carter and not just see photos of him and boy is she getting to meet him at one of the sweetest times. He’s walking, babbling, and a smiley little guy!

While I don’t want to wish the time away, I am sure missing home and my own bed haha. I’m looking forward to getting back and back into a routine but for now, am soaking up these moments and memories.

The CK Daily – Football, Hiking & More Adventures to Come

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

It was a super busy one around here. We went to the UGA football game on Saturday which is always a fun experience, but it was sooooo hot! I think I got to watch maybe 5 minutes of the game before having to go seek shade with my 4 year old niece who was not a fan of melting in the sun! We still had a good time though! Got her some Kona Ice and found a shaded spot for her to sit and enjoy it so she was happy!

On Saturday I took my niece and nephew on a hike to see Dukes Creek Falls. It’s a 150 foot waterfall located near Helen, GA. The hike is only 2 miles and it’s a very easy trail so it’s perfect for bringing kids along! They both did great and loved seeing the waterfall!

Once we were done with the hike, we headed into downtown Helen to grab some food and so that they could walk around and experience the town. They got some candy, toys, and a ride on the “train” that takes you through the town. It was such a fun day and we’re already looking forward to our next adventure!
