Happy Friday & Happy NASCAR Day! Any NASCAR fans out there?!

In This Issue: Summer Travel Plans Anyone? | AC Power Cord | Industrial Switches vs Commercial Switches | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Summer Travel Plans Anyone?

Happy Friday, folks!

There is a saying that days go by slowly, and years go by fast. I realize how true that is at specific points of the year, such as the end of a school year.

Our oldest teenager is finishing 10th grade, and the other is finishing 7th grade. This week and next are full of finals and other end-of-school-year festivities. It’s exciting to see another school year close, which means summer is just around the corner!

What’s odd this year is we have yet to make any family summer plans. We’ve thought about a bunch of ideas for a family trip, but we are still looking for something. Do you have family plans to travel this summer? Send some ideas my way!

Have a great weekend!

Chris

The CK Daily – 3 Down, 51 To Go!

Happy Wednesday! Hope you’re having a great week this week.

It’s time for a goal check-in and transparently, I don’t have great updates to share. 🙁 I had a book goal of 54 books and I’ve read 3 so far this year…yikes! I’m not giving up, but it’s going to take some determination to get there. I read my 1st book in a while last weekend and was reminded how fun it is and how much I enjoy sitting down and reading a good book. And goodness, I was sucked into this book! That said, I’m on a mission to complete my goal – so we will see where I get. I’m hoping to crack open a new book today!

Did you set goals for yourself at the beginning of the year? Are you making progress? Oh, and if you have book recommendations, send them my way!

Cheers to a great rest of the week!

Ashley

Happy Tuesday & Happy National Dance like a Chicken Day! Seems like the perfect day to bust out your best chicken moves and dance your way through the day. 🐔

The CK Daily – Waterfalls, Clemson & an Unforgiving Rock 🤪

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope all the moms out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! My mom spent the week on Hilton Head Island so I didn’t get to see her on Mother’s Day, but seeing as how she was at the beach, I don’t think she was too sad about it!

It was an absolutely beautiful Spring weekend, so I tried to take advantage by spending time outside exploring. My little brother and I headed to South Carolina for the day on Saturday to check out a few hikes. We hiked Brasstown Falls Trail which far exceeded expectations. It was a beautiful, well-maintained trail that featured 2 stunning waterfalls! The trail was fairly busy which I normally don’t like, but we met so many friendly people and had some great conversations which was actually really nice!

We also spent some time checking out the Clemson campus. My grandfather went to college there so it has always been my 2nd favorite university! That was our first time visiting and I was really impressed with the campus. It was beautiful and we enjoyed walking it!

We made one more stop for a quick hike at Chau Ram Falls Trail on the way home. That hike didn’t go quite as planned as I slipped and fell on a wet piece of rock. Gravity remains undefeated! We got a good laugh out of it and, fortunately, we were almost done with the hike at that point so it wasn’t too miserable hiking out! All things considered, it was a great weekend!

The CK Daily – A Weekend of Fun ☀️

Happy Monday!

We had another busy weekend. We spent Saturday afternoon at my parent’s house for an early Mother’s Day lunch. Then later in the afternoon we went to my daughter’s Spring piano recital and even though she was quite nervous, she nailed it and played beautifully. That evening we attended a pre-release Pokemon tournament and my daughter won 2 out of her 3 games. She had a ton of fun and I love seeing the competitive side come out of her.

On Sunday after church, we had a cookout and enjoyed the humidity-free sunny weather, and celebrated Mother’s Day. We’re now counting down the days until Summer when the kids are out of school and life slows down a little bit. I’m looking forward to the lazier days of summer. I hope you have a great day and a wonderful week!

Learning Center Article – COM, EXT, IND – Temperature Ranges for SFPs

When you build a network, you primarily focus on hardware that meets certain requirements. It has to be fast enough and able to manage enough traffic for your applications.

In some cases, it might also need durability requirements, and one of the scariest things for sensitive networking equipment (like SFPs) is something as simple as temperature. If it gets too hot or too cold, it can damage your hardware, and your whole network fails.
