Happy Thursday! We’re so close to the weekend. Do you have any plans or anything you’re looking forward to?

The CK Daily – Hurricanes and Fußbal

Happy Thursday!

Sometimes life can be a real adventure. I recently moved to Houston from Atlanta a little over a year ago. I guess with that came some changes in expected weather during this time of the year. I know in Georgia that we can still get the outer bands of some of these storms but here in Houston we got the whole thing. Luckily my family and I were relatively unscathed compared to others, only part of our fence got knocked down but nothing a couple of nails and some hard work can’t fix.

The last few weeks haven’t all been gloomy however as I got to enjoy the world’s greatest sport on one of the biggest stages, the European Championship. With my father being from Germany and being a dual citizen here in the US and Germany, watching these tournaments bring a bit of that extra excitement. The Euros were a thrilling rollercoaster of emotions and pride from underdogs going far in the tournament to last minute equalizers to send teams’ home. Germany unfortunately was on the receiving end of one of those experiences when they conceded to Spain in the 119th minute (one minute away from penalties). No matter the outcome, it was fun to enjoy some high level soccer as now the wait begins for the professional leagues around the world to begin sometime in August.

Cheers to a great summer of sports so far and hopefully a continuation of that through the Olympics and other events to come!

Sterling

Learning Center Article – Wiring Ethernet Patch Panels

When you’re building a network, it’s often ideal to use a patch panel to direct cables and organize long Ethernet runs — especially if they go through walls, floors, and/or ceilings. Patch panels make cable management and network organization very easy over long periods of time, but you’ll need to wire the panels in order to put them into your network.

Happy Wednesday & Happy National Hot Dog Day! What a summertime staple this is…but the real question remains: is it a sandwich or not?

In This Issue: A Successful Move | Wall Mount Cabinet | Bidirectional or BiDi Transceivers Explained | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – A Successful Move

Happy Wednesday! I write from you this morning from the great state of Georgia, as we have officially moved! I think today ~might~ be the first day that I’ve felt rested-ish compared to the week. Moving sure is something, but I’m thankful it’s mostly over.

We’ve still got to clean-up our old place and turn the keys in for there, but that will be complete by the end of this week! I’ll miss our townhome and the surrounding area, but am looking forward to the new memories and roots we will establish where we are now.

Moving has brought lots of emotions, so with that, here are 3 things I’ve been thankful for this week:
My family. Near and far they’ve been there for us every step of the way. I’m so grateful for their support and help! It’s been weekend after weekend of fixing up, cleaning out and moving in. Couldn’t have done it without them!
Air conditioning. It has been SO HOT! The refreshing feeling of coming inside to an cool house is something I don’t take for granted and I’m grateful for.
A home! To be honest we’ve bounced around for the last several years. We’ve been blessed to live in some wonderful places and also in the places that have challenged us and helped us grow into the family we are today. But at the end of it all, I’m grateful to have a home and a place to continue making memories with my family.
Cheers to a great week and hopefully some rain to cool it off around here!

Ashley

The CK Daily – Celebrating a Sweet Life

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

I don’t have any exciting adventures to report on from the weekend. Instead, it was more of a quiet and reflective time. One of my best friends lost her stepbrother, Alex, to brain cancer on July 3rd and the services were held on Sunday.

It was an incredibly sad day, but also incredibly beautiful. Alex was only 35 years old, and many of his friends showed up to celebrate his life which I know made the family feel loved and supported. Many beautiful tributes were spoken and I think we all left feeling inspired by the way that Alex lived his life to the fullest. The most special moment was when they talked about how he gave his life to Christ just a few short weeks before his passing – something his “Pap” had been praying for for years.

I’m so thankful that he made that decision and that the family can find comfort knowing they will see him again.

The CK Daily – Any Bluey lovers out there?

Happy Monday!

What a crazy weekend. Aside from the big national news story (if you live under a rock, there was an assassination attempt on former President Trump, our family headed to our local ballpark, Coolray Field, to see two special friends visiting from Australia. The kids absolutely loved their short interaction with Bluey and Bingo from the hit children’s TV show Bluey. We took a family photo and gave high fives! Luckily, we got there early enough to avoid the huge line that formed and having to wait hours.

Afterwards we watched some of the games enjoying some burgers and fries, and the kids got their faces painted. Ironically the wait for face painting was twice as long as the Bluey and Bingo line. Kids love to have their faces painted. Only for the paint to smudge off shortly after because of the heat, haha. The things we do for our kids!

Anyways, I’m hoping some rain will cool things down this week, but it still looks like it’s going to be a scorcher! Stay cool my friends!

I hope you had a great day and a wonderful week!

Cris
