The CK Daily – It’s Time for the Olympics!

Happy Friday! We are just hours away from the official start of the Summer Olympics of 2024 which I’m so excited about! We are a YouTube TV subscriber, and I had the option of adding some of my favorite sports to watch in a settings tab so that they are automatically added to my list. Some of my favorite sports include soccer, gymnastics, swimming, and track and field!

The Summer Olympics always bring so much excitement and will be held in Paris, which adds a special charm to the event. There is something so special about watching athletes from across the globe gather to compete at the highest level, inspiring millions with their dedication, skill, and sportsmanship.

Location: This will be the third time Paris hosts the Olympics, having done so in 1900 and 1924.

Dates: The games are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

New Sports: The 2024 Olympics will feature new sports like skateboarding, surfing, sport climbing, and breakdancing.

Youth and Innovation: The organizers are placing a significant focus on engaging youth and incorporating innovation and technology into the games’ organization and presentation.

What are some of the things that you are looking forward to watching?

Have a great weekend!

Mandy Bentley

We hope you’re week is still going well! Did you know that the world’s first website is still up and running? Create by Sir Tim Berners-Lee in 1991, the site is as simple as it gets, but it changed the world forever! Check it out here.

There’s something about the simplicity of it. This site introduced the concept of hyperlinks, allowing users to navigate between pages, and it marked the beginning of the World Wide Web. So, next time you’re surfing the web, take a moment to appreciate how far we’ve come from that first humble page. And remember, every big idea starts small!

The CK Daily – The Great State of Ohio!

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you’re having a great week. This week my husband and I are taking some grand adventures across the state of Ohio! On Saturday, we have a wedding to attend, so we decided to spend the week stopping by and seeing some of our old friends…and it’s been so sweet!

We started the week in Dayton, are now in Columbus, and will head to Akron in a few days. We lived in Ohio a few years ago and we loved it. To be honest, we miss it! So it’s been nice to just enjoy some time up here and see our friends who we’ve stayed connected with through the years. It’s also been fun because for some, it’s the first time their meeting Carter and there’s just something so fun about introducing people to your little one!

Anyway, this week and next week are going to be a roller coaster. Next week our little guy turns 1 and ahh…I really just don’t even know where the time went. We’re also having a fun gender reveal party for my older brother, so needless to say – there’s lots happening! Just hoping that I’m able to sit back and soak it all in.

Hope you have a great rest of your week!

Ashley

When you build a network, you primarily focus on hardware that meets certain requirements. It has to be fast enough and able to manage enough traffic for your applications.

In some cases, it might also need durability requirements, and one of the scariest things for sensitive networking equipment (like SFPs) is something as simple as temperature. If it gets too hot or too cold, it can damage your hardware, and your whole network fails.

Happy Tuesday & Happy National Lemon Day! You know how the saying goes…”If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”

In This Issue: Rain, Adventure and Down Time | Cat6 Ethernet Cable Pull Box | StackWise-480 and StackWise 1T Explained | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Lots of Rain, Adventure and Down Time

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is off to a great start to the week!

I had a busy but great weekend! On Saturday I ventured out to the Battery in Atlanta for a friends’ birthday. The lunch was planned several weeks ago and, at the time, there was no Braves game scheduled until the evening. However, the Friday night game was rained out so they scheduled it for 1:00 on Saturday which meant there was a TON of traffic and parking was nearly impossible! I ended up parking pretty far away and getting an Uber to drive me to the Battery. At the exact time I was calling Uber, the bottom dropped out of the sky and we got some intense rain which I had to walk through for about a block so I was thoroughly soaked by the time I made it to the restaurant! It was still a good time with friends, though!

After that was done, I headed up to Clayton, GA for the night. We stayed at a little boutique hotel called the Bridge Creek Inn and it was so cute! The location was right in downtown Clayton so it was perfect for getting out and exploring the town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The weather and some time constraints prevented us from hiking on Sunday, but it was kind of nice to not be on a schedule and just enjoy some down time that morning. We stopped for lunch in Clarkesville to grab lunch and then headed back home!

It was a great weekend!

Rebecca
