Hello Tuesday! It’s National Fruit at Workday—a reminder that healthy snacks can boost energy and brighten your day. What’s your go-to fruit for a midday pick-me-up?

In This Issue: Hello October, Hello Happy Place | Deal of the Day | Cisco Aironet | Importance of a Disaster Recovery Plan | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Hello October, Hello Happy Place

Good morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone’s having a great week so far!

We have finally made it to October which is one of my favorite months of the year! Here in Georgia, the weather is generally pretty hot in September, but it seems like we finally start to get a little relief from the heat in October, which is always welcome after a long, hot summer! My other reason for loving October, though, is because I typically spend a good bit of time on Hilton Head Island during that month. We have found it’s one of the best times to visit the island because the temperatures are a bit cooler and the crowds are much smaller than during peak season.

I actually got to enjoy a quick weekend getaway there over the weekend which was just what I needed! We ate so much good food, enjoyed visiting Harbour Town, and spent lots of time relaxing! I’ll be heading back in a few weeks for a working vacation and I’m already counting down the days. It truly is my “happy place” … it’s a spot that helps me reset and recharge!

Here’s to cooler days ahead, a fresh new month, and finding a little time for the places and moments that bring you joy!

Rebecca

New week, new energy! Mondays set the pace for what’s ahead. Did your weekend give you the recharge you needed?

In This Issue: Rain or Shine, Family Time Wins | Deal of the Day | Cat6 Slim Ethernet Patch Cable | Benefits of Redundancy & Cold Spares | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Rain or Shine, Family Time Wins

Happy Monday!

This weekend I made sure to spend some extra time with the family. We took the kids to Revolving Sushi Factory, which turned out to be both a fun and not-so-fun experience for them. They got to try all kinds of new things, some they loved and others they absolutely hated, but they really enjoyed watching the sushi roll by on the conveyor belt and seeing the little train deliver our food. It’s definitely a unique experience, especially for kids.

On Sunday, after church, we checked out a small medieval faire that a neighboring town was hosting. It was a bit rainy, but that didn’t stop us from venturing out. The kids had a blast getting balloon animals, running through an inflatable corn maze, and watching a medieval comedy play that was thankfully held indoors in the warm, dry convention center. Our local game store was there too, so we played a few board games before wrapping things up with some ice cream.

It was a full weekend, but a good one. I wanted to spend some quality time with the family since I’ll be out of town next weekend. More on that adventure later!

I hope you have a great day and a wonderful week!

Cris

We made it to Friday! It’s National Techies Day—a shoutout to the tech pros who keep our digital worlds running. What tech can’t you live without?

In This Issue: Celebrating Love in Every Season | Deal of the Day | MPO Fiber Optic Cleaner | How to Calculate Power Consumption | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Celebrating Love in Every Season

This weekend feels a little extra special. Not only are we stepping into the crisp, golden days of early October, the kind that make you want to linger outside a little longer, soak up the changing leaves, and wrap your hands around a warm drink, but my wife and I are celebrating a big milestone: our 15-year wedding anniversary.

It’s hard to believe how quickly time moves, how the years stack up like chapters, each with their own challenges, laughter, and love woven in between. And it is incredible that she has put up with me for as long as she has, lol. This season, more than most, reminds me of how change can be beautiful, how growth takes time, and how gratitude feels richest when it’s shared.

So, as we head into the weekend, I’m holding onto all of that—celebration, reflection, and a little extra joy. Whether your plans involve pumpkins, cozy blankets, or simply a quiet moment to yourself, I hope you find something worth celebrating, too. Here’s to love, to seasons shifting, and to weekends that remind us of both.

Matthew

Almost the weekend! Today is National Name Your Car Day. Got a trusty vehicle? Give it a name that fits its vibe!

In This Issue: Stadiums to Study Rooms | Deal of the Day | HDMI Keystone Coupler | Console Cables | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Stadiums to Study Rooms

Well, what a weekend… even though we had a disappointing loss against Alabama, it was a great game to be at. It was my first time back in the stadium this season, and of course I was hoping for a win, but I still had a great time being back between the hedges. The energy was amazing (until we lost haha) and I enjoyed my traditional mid-game hot dog.

After that rollercoaster of a game, I’m not too upset that I don’t have tickets to the upcoming game against Kentucky. I love being in the stands with everyone, but I think watching from the comfort of my couch with some snacks sounds great too. Plus, we will be able to watch other games at the same time, which is usually tough at the stadium with the limited cell service.

Sunday morning, I woke up a little tired after the late night but ready to attack the day. I had my usual study Sunday, so I got packed up and ready to spend 6 hours in a study room. It might sound like a lot, but it’s always worth it and really helps me kick off the week on the right note. Now, I’m looking forward to wrapping up this week with a test and a relaxing weekend with friends and watching plenty of football!

Learning Center Article – What Are Console Cables?

Console cables — also known as Cisco cables, rollover cables and management cables — are designed for a specific purpose. They connect Cisco networking devices to terminals or PCs for configuration. Typically, the Cisco end will connect via RJ45, and the terminal end will conclude in a serial connection. What matters most about console cables is the specific nature of the connection.

Cheers to Wednesday progress! As October kicks off, it’s also National Pumpkin Seed Day—a crunchy little nod to fall. How’s your week going so far?

In This Issue: Finding Light in Challenging Times | Deal of the Day | TP-Link Passive PoE Injector Adapter | PoE vs PoE+ vs UPoE | News to Start Your Day

The CK Daily – Finding Light in Challenging Times

Hi everyone! It’s October!

The way the month began here in the Philippines has been quite overwhelming. In the first few hours of October, Cebu was struck by a 6.7 magnitude earthquake that caused some establishments and even a church to collapse. Shortly after, minor eruptions were recorded at Taal Volcano. And just this morning, a new tropical depression formed. We deeply appreciate your prayers for the Philippines at this time. If you know someone living here or visiting, please check in on them, especially those in or near Cebu. Hopefully, these natural disasters will ease soon.

On the brighter side, I’d like to share some good news: our new baby, Ayet. We finally bought the sidecar last weekend, and now the tricycle is complete. We are just waiting for the papers to be processed so it can be used on the road and start generating extra income. Despite everything happening around us, I am still thankful to God for the blessings we continue to receive, waking up each day, the air we breathe, clean water, food on the table, and a healthy family. Ayet is simply a bonus, and we are truly grateful for this blessing as the fruit of our hard work.

Let’s continue choosing positivity and finding the bright side in everything. Most importantly, let’s not forget to pray. 🙏🏻

Learning Center Article – PoE vs PoE+ vs UPoE: What’s the best switch to meet your network needs?

If you’re new to networking, you might be wondering what in the world is the difference between PoE, PoE+ and UPoE switches. Power-over-Ethernet, often referred to as PoE, is a system used to distribute data and power to a targeted network of devices via safe Ethernet cabling. It uses basic copper cables and a switch to send power to the network. Recently, PoE+ has also become popular by boosting the amount of power that can run through the system.
