Remember in elementary/middle school when you liked a girl? Boys had their own way of showing their affection for the opposite gender. Punching, pushing and kicking them were all socially acceptable ways to show the girl you liked that you in fact liked her. [Read more…] about Aww, I guess I AM loved
April surprise from my tormentors, err co-workers
Note to self:
Do not take April Fool’s day off. Coworkers when armed with information like “man, I don’t see myself ever getting married”, or “man, I’m sure glad I don’t have to ask permission to go somewhere”, or the ever popular ”weddings are like funerals, only with better food” they tend to use it against you. One side of the coin it sucks having your wall spammed, but on the other side at least I know what they were up to. We work in an environment where nothing good comes from silence. If they did nothing, I would have likely taken Monday off too so that whatever they planted in or around my desk would have died or moved to another cube. CablesAndKits makes the 2010 Inc5000 list
This past year was an exciting year for us here at CablesAndKits. It was particularly exciting for me as the CFO, because we were and are so focused on metrics. As part of the executive leadership team here, I have been challenging our teams and leaders to find ways to measure their team performance as well as the company’s performance as it relates to their particular roles. Let’s just face it, we have it pretty good. Your car won’t start? At least you have one. You’re a little late on your mortgage payment? At least you have one. Having some difficulties at work, well, let just face it, you’re lucky you have a job at all. The same can be said about so many aspects of our lives. Even those most fundamental, rudimentary things we tend to overlook and take for granted. Even those things that mean the most, like family.

Culture: A Recipe for Success
“Culture”- it has become a popular buzzword in the workplace in recent years. You hear about this concept in several variations such as: Organizational Culture, Corporate Culture or Company Culture. Since the images of “Corporate” or “Organizational” Culture bring up negative connotations for me personally, I prefer to refer to it as “Company Culture”. Merry Christmas from CablesAndKits
CablesAndKits.com is located near Atlanta, GA – we are not used to it being 25° F outside every morning! Needless to say, I have elevated my coffee intake to “addiction level” in order to fight the cold – or at least make it more enjoyable.
It seems like we were just having our Thanksgiving Chili-cook-off yesterday, but all of the sudden Winter has come upon us in full force. By this time everyone has had one-too-many leftover turkey sandwiches and we’re all ready to get into the Christmas spirit. [Read more…] about Merry Christmas from CablesAndKits
