The CK Daily – From Thanksgiving to the Magic of the Season
Oh Happy Day CK Fam! Last week felt especially rewarding, one of those stretches where I could really feel the meaning behind the work I’m doing. It was a good feeling, and it has carried right into this week. Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, I’m still sitting with a lot of gratitude, both for the pause it gave me and for the time with family and all the reminders of what truly matters.
Thanksgiving itself was everything I needed. We spent the days with family, and we finally got a real Christmas tree. I’m still enjoying the smell of fresh pine taking over the house. The kids ran around the yard like they always do, and of course I ended up out there with them, probably laughing more than they were and definitely out of breath. And like every year, we ate way too much turkey and ended up stretched across the couch, half-asleep and completely content.
Once the holiday haze lifted, we shifted gears to my oldest daughter’s swim meet. I love watching her compete; she pours her whole heart into it. To wrap up the long weekend, we went to church to reset before driving out to the Christmas light display in Athens. It’s a simple tradition, but something about those lights always brings a quiet kind of magic to the season.
All in all, it was exactly what I needed, a week of reward, a weekend of gratitude, and memories I know I’ll hold onto for a long time.

Supporting Families in Need: Join CK in Giving Through iServe Ministries
As we head into Friday, it feels like a good moment to highlight something close to our hearts here at CK. Giving has always been part of our culture, and every year we are reminded of how much joy comes from helping meet the needs of others. This season, we are partnering once again with a local Georgia organization that we are honored to serve through board membership.
iServe Ministries supports our local community by providing free food and resources to neighbors in need. During Christmas, they host a toy giveaway in partnership with several local groups. A few days before Christmas, families in need can come with their children to enjoy a free breakfast and choose gifts for the holiday. The need this year is the largest we have ever seen.
