CnK lends a helping PAW

If you are a frequent CablesAndKits blog reader, you may know that we like to lend a helping hand, or “PAW” in this case, whenever possible. We have participated in several community outreach projects over the last several months and I must admit, they all have been very touching experiences.

We volunteered at PAWS Atlanta a few weeks ago and it is something I will never forget. PAWS Atlanta, formerly known as the Dekalb Humane Society, was founded in 1966. They provide medical care, shelter, nutrition, basic training and love to homeless cats and dogs until their permanent, safe homes are found. PAWS is a no-kill shelter and they do not euthanize because of space constraints. They are a non-profit organization and rely 100% on donations, so we decided to help them out! Merry Christmas from CablesAndKits

CablesAndKits.com is located near Atlanta, GA – we are not used to it being 25° F outside every morning!  Needless to say, I have elevated my coffee intake to “addiction level” in order to fight the cold – or at least make it more enjoyable.

It seems like we were just having our Thanksgiving Chili-cook-off yesterday, but all of the sudden Winter has come upon us in full force. Halloween Haunts and Horrors

Muuuaaaaahhhhh…  (picture of our illustrious leader grinning madly and wringing his hands while one wonders what mischief he’s been up to)….

I saunter into the office Halloween morning feeling like a million bucks.  I mean, how else would I feel all gussied up like Marilyn Monroe?  As I enter the office I duck, narrowly avoiding being singed by a light saber.  Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker are battling it out to the death right here in Buford, GA.  I mean, who let those yahoos in?  What’s a blond to do to protect her hairdo?  (My wig could have gone up in flames!)  As I stand there, heart racing at having just missed my early demise, I’m grabbed and carted off by a big, hairy and very smelly Wookie.  This is not how I had envisioned my day beginning. The man is constantly moving. He doesn’t stop all day unless he has to tie bowties on his Adidas Sambas (robust indoor soccer shoes). Part of our developing culture at CnK includes having a positive impact on our local community and beyond. We realize there are people in need all around us and we’re committed to making a difference in their lives. Previously, we’ve participated in several opportunities, including assistance with Haiti relief, and are now making a conscious effort to empower our team members to create and lead projects of their own.
