The CK Daily – Family & Funny Signs
Happy Thursday everyone!
This past weekend was such a good one! Saturday was all about family time as we celebrated a recent birthday. We had some good southern cooking, which I have been craving lately, and wrapped it up with a Nothing Bundt Cake. Their cream cheese icing is to die for, and it was the perfect pairing with the lemon cake. We sadly couldn’t stay much longer, because my boyfriend was running the Athens Half Marathon the next morning, and we had to pick up his race packet! After that, it was a blur of errands to prep for race day and the upcoming week before heading to bed early for our 6AM wake-up call.
Race morning was a blast, I love surprising my boyfriend with the sign I make each year, and this year’s was definitely a hit (in his eyes and with plenty of other runners too). It said, “Toenails are for Losers”, and let’s just say I got way more TMI about toenails than I thought, but it was hilarious.
After the race (and a much-needed shower for him), we celebrated with a Taqueria Tsunami lunch and splitting a dirt-and-worms custard cup from Andy’s. The weekend flew by in the best way, but now I’m definitely ready for a more low-key weekend coming up. As much as I love traveling and staying busy, I’m craving some serious study time (after the UGA game of course).
Here’s to family, good food, and balance for the weekend ahead!
