The CK Daily – Living on Land
Good morning CK family! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!
This week I’m spending time at home taking care of a zoo of dogs! My family is on our annual trip to the Florida Keys and this year I stayed back, just in case of any surprise appearances of our little guy, to watch all of the dogs. There are 8 of them and boy are they fun!
This weekend, I was reminded of the many things I love about being home. I’ll share them below:
- Fresh blueberries. My grandparents have had two large blueberry plants for as long as I can remember and this week they’ve been ripening and are ready to pick!
- The sweet sounds of nature. When I got home on Friday, I spent some time outside in the afternoon and just listened to the sweet sounds of the birds chirping, the wind blowing in the trees, and squirrels living their best lives. Ever since moving, I’ve been more appreciative of what it was like to grow up living on land.
- Eggs! My parents have 12+ chickens and it’s so fun to go out and gather the eggs and enjoy them. Plus the chickens have such a personality. Since we’ve had them for so long, they’ve adjusted to us and are so fun to interact with.
- Fresh strawberries. A few years ago, my mom planted a few strawberry plants, which multiplied each year, providing us with fresh summer snacks to pick and enjoy!
There are so many things I could continue to list, but the joy these few things have brought me over this past weekend was more than I expected. It’s a good reminder to take time to appreciate what you have, when you have it – because it’s not the same everywhere!
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of this week!
Cheers,
Ashley
Product Spotlights & Updates
OM5 fiber cables, the first approved as WBMMF (Wide Band Multimode Fiber), have been created to specifically handle high-speed data center applications with using two fibers to transmit from 40GBs up to 100GBs. With the emergence of SWDM (Shortwave Wavelength Division Multiplexing) applications in data centers, OM5 fiber cables provide optimal support and performance at higher speeds.
Learning Center Article – All About Cisco Active Optical Cables
When you need the fastest possible speeds for a network, fiber optics becomes a necessity. Yet, there is a range of multi-gigabit networking that is supported by both copper and fiber cables. Those speeds usually range between 10 and 100 Gigabits per second, and if that describes your network, then you have several viable options for how you connect your devices.
One option is that of active optical cables. They can provide powerful, cost-effective connectivity for many different network designs.
