CEO Daily Update – 8.10.2020

August 10, 2020 by Craig Haynie

Appendix A N95 Medical & KN95 Civil Masks in Stock | Like New Cisco Phones | Joe is Back

Happy Monday!

Welcome to the CablesAndKits CEO daily email. Read more about this email by scrolling to the very bottom.

Did you hear about the muffler that was really tired? It was exhausted.

So Joe was back on Friday. I asked about the abduction. He SAID he had been to some place called “Colorado”. I called this “Colorado” and they said they’d never heard of him. I don’t know … I think he’s walking kinda funny if you ask me. (Welcome back Joe!!)

You GOTTA see below in Joe’s update about our new Appendix A Masks!! This is a BIG DEAL for us.

Fear, uncertainty, and doubt is a real thing. So real that I had the idea the other day to register FUDbucket.com as a place to list all the things people have fear, uncertainty, or doubt of along with the FACTS related to them. But then again, when do I have time for such a thing? Like I said before, I buy domains like candy. Well, I don’t eat a lot of candy. I buy domains like … what do I buy a lot of? … I don’t really …. Like water? I don’t know. I buy a lot of domains. Anyway, moving on …

That being said, when Appendix A became a thing it introduced FUD around buying masks. Looking back I think it makes sense, although I can’t say I was too happy about it at the time. We knew through independent testing that our masks met the standards, but the manufacturer we use didn’t get tested and listed. But anyway, such is life and here we are. All that matters at this point is that we NOW HAVE Appendix A masks. These are factories that the US FDA has said are good to buy from. That’s us … approved, stamped, endorsed!

The super duper thing is that almost ALL masks sold in the US right now are “non-medical”. That is A-OK for the average Joe or Jane, but we were still not able to fully serve the medical community the way we would have liked (even though the whole point of the EUA Joe mentions below was to allow the use of non-medical grade masks in a medical environment). NOW WE CAN. Not only do we have an Appendix A KN95 mask, we have an Appendix A N95 MEDICAL GRADE mask. WOOO HOOO !!!

Like Joe says below – order what you need – we have more coming and can get ANY qty needed.

Today’s Product Spotlight:

CP-7945G VoIP Phone

The CP-7945G VoIP Phone is one of our best-selling phone models! It’s easy to see why as this phone offers exceptional functionality at an unbeatable price! The CP-7945G is a workhorse! It is a 2-line, Gigabit ready phone, that features 2 Ethernet ports, a 5” 320 x 240 pixel resolution color display, wide band audio, hands-free speakerphone with noise cancellation, and it even features PoE capability!

Furthermore, at CablesAndKits we sell this model fully refurbished at a fraction of what it cost new. Our refurb process is pretty extensive too. Every phone gets fully reset back to factory defaults, registered with a Call Manager server to get an extension, and EVERY feature gets tested. We mash every button (That’s southern for press), dial out, test the speakerphone – the works. Then, we 86 the handset and cord and replace them with brand new ones – cause let’s face it, the cord looks like you strangled someone with it, multiple times, and the handset smells like someone’s stank breath. Gross.

We completely clean the phone, REPLACE any scratched components like the screen bezel, and put this work of love into a brand new box with serial number and MAC address on a barcoded label for easy deployment. And of course we have other models available. Check the site for what’s in stock, or let us know if you don’t see what you need.

Not to get too into the weeds, but we can also assist you in making your deployments easier by providing asset tagging, user / room number labeling, pre-configuration, or whatever else you might need. Additional charges may apply, see store, err, a sales rep, for details.

Speaking of “86”, did you know this was the origin? I had no idea.

From Joe, our friendly Safety Supplies Product Marketer:

I’M BACK!! I’m not totally sure if I was abducted or not to be totally honest. What I do know is I thought I was in Colorado which I absolutely loved and had a blast. So, if I was abducted, I’m all for it happening again! Maybe don’t wait so long to fly me away this time!

Friday Craig mentioned we have “Appendix A” Medical Grade N95 masks coming to the site. I can only imagine how frustrated he was looking at them in the warehouse and not seeing them on the site! Well, good news…. THEY’RE LIVE!!!!

Check out our N95 Page to see our available options.

With these being medical grade and placed on the Appendix A list they’re perfect for medical facilities as well as everyday civil people who seek a little extra protection and piece of mind.

What is Appendix A? We’ve never seen such a need for masks in our lifetime and there’s no telling how long it may last. On August 5, the FDA issued an EUA (emergency use authorization) for certain disposable, single-use surgical masks in response to concerns relating to insufficient supply and availability of such masks. They later tested masks that were being imported to make sure they met or exceeded the filtration standard and published a list of ones that did NOT and ones that DID. The approved masks are considered “Appendix A” and ours are on that list! To sum it up, they’re saying these are factories that have been vetted and approved for those who need a more serious grade mask with some sort of certification backing it.

Some links to learn more about Appendix A masks and the FDA’s EUA:

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/letters-health-care-providers/certain-filtering-facepiece-respirators-china-may-not-provide-adequate-respiratory-protection-letter

We actually have two Appendix A masks now. One is the N95 and we also have a KN95. The same conditions apply as was written about above. The KN95 is a Chinese standard, and the N95 is an American standard. They are practically the same with some very minor differences. BOTH masks are on the Appendix A, and the N95 is actually a Medical Grade. We are super excited to be able to provide these for you!

If we sell out, order what you need. We have plenty more on the way in the next week or so!

Now let’s veer off the topic of Appendix A (kind of). This is going to be a very busy week for me, but I couldn’t be more excited! We have a ton of new products coming to the site that I can’t wait to share them with all of you. Stay tuned and don’t forget to check Craigs emails in order to stay up to date on everything we have going on behind the scenes…it’s A LOT!

This quote came to me today: (To those that are surrendered to the Lord): Why are you “barely keeping your head above water” when the Lord gave you gills?

I was at church and the sermon was on Luke 9:18-26. The primary point of the sermon was “Who do you say I am?”. You cannot be thinking about or be focused on surrender when you are not even sure to who (or why) you are surrendering. The existence of a Christ (Messiah / Savior) means there is something you are being saved from. (No, Jesus’ “last name” was not Christ. He was Jesus of Nazareth, THE Christ).

To the Jews, they knew what they needed saving from. They were very well educated on God’s ways and requirements. They knew very well about sin and that we do not measure up to God’s standards. God gave ways to pay for sin, but it wasn’t permanent. The Messiah would be permanent. The gentiles (any non-Jew) are at a major disadvantage in large part because of the lack of depth and knowledge of God’s ways and His word. Being “on the outside” we have to start from scratch. Jews were (and sometimes still are) raised to know the Torah (the first 5 books of the bible) word for word. They KNOW God’s ways and his requirements. They were LOOKING and waiting for the Messiah. But as is typical with humans, they didn’t recognize him when He was right in front of them. Peter did!

Luke 9:18-26

18 Now it happened that as he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” 19 And they answered, “John the Baptist. But others say, Elijah, and others, that one of the prophets of old has risen.” 20 Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered, “The Christ of God.” 21 And he strictly charged and commanded them to tell this to no one, 22 saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.” 23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? 26 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

A former pastor once said, and this is so good, he said “Good news is not good news without bad news”. The gospel, or the story of Jesus, is considered “the good news”. But as I pointed out above, the bad news is that we don’t measure up to God’s standards. Eve (and Adam) disobeyed God and that sin has plagued mankind ever since. Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. ALL. ALLLLLLLL. The very well known verse John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world,[a] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”. There is the bad news, and the good news.

Back to my quote – I am not going to quote 100 scriptures but the short of it is that the bible says that those who are surrendered to the will of the Father will find peace, rest, guidance, comfort, will be cared for, fed, clothed, sheltered, and on and on. There is no promise of lack of difficulty (the opposite in fact) but “I am with you always, to the end of the age” is what Jesus himself said.

So for some reason the quote came to mind – that as believers surrendered to the will of the Father, we need not gasp for air while trying to keep our head above water. We can be calm and assured that we are equipped, in HIS power, to swim through the trouble.

Have you acknowledged sin as your downfall, and Jesus as savior and Lord? There was a time when I didn’t. And then I did. Swim with me.

I hope you are enjoying these emails. If you are, I appreciate it when you let me know! If not, or if you have ideas for how to improve, by all means, please let me know! Sometimes I “can’t see the forest for the trees”.

As always, please let me know how I can be of service to you. If you need assistance with something, advice, or even if you just need someone to pray for you, I am here and listening.

Blessings,

Craig Haynie – CEO
