Happy Monday and Happy December!
I enjoyed a nice long weekend with the family. We have a small tradition of watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on Thanksgiving morning while drinking hot cocoa. This year we were surprised to see Huntrix from the K-Pop Demon Hunters performing. My kids are obsessed with the movie and the soundtrack, so they were glued to the TV and loved seeing them live. We ended up having two great Thanksgiving meals, one at my in-laws and one at my parents. Somehow, I managed to escape cooking this year. It has definitely been a year of gratitude. We’ve had our ups and downs, but overall, it feels like the year came out net positive and we’re thankful for that.
On Friday we put up our Christmas tree and decorations. I like that our tree is a total hodgepodge of ornaments from trips we’ve taken and homemade creations from the kids. Every ornament reminds us of something.
On Saturday I gave my parents and sister an early Christmas present by taking the family to the circus. Cirque du Soleil was in town, and I found a good deal on tickets. The show was incredible, and I recommend seeing it at least once in your lifetime. The kids had a blast, and my parents and sister enjoyed it too.
Sunday was a rainy and slow day. We went to church and took the rest of the day to relax and mentally prepare for the upcoming busy week and Christmas season.
