The CK Daily – Getting in the Right Mindset for 2024
Good Morning, Happy Tuesday, & Happy New Year! I don’t know about you but I am SO glad to be entering into a new year that I hope will be full of some much-needed fresh starts and fresh perspectives!
To say life threw some curveballs my way in 2023 would be a massive understatement. From the first day of the year until the last day, it felt like the hits just kept on coming and it really took a toll on me mentally, physically, and emotionally. While there were some beautiful moments, I think a defining word for the year could be summed up as “brokenness”. I know we live in a fallen world, and because of that, we are going to experience brokenness. But, experiencing it and wallowing in it are two different things. I feel like I spent the year in confusion and fear which had me somewhat “paralyzed” to a certain degree all year, unable to see a way out of the darkness. But I’m finally at a point to say “Enough is enough!”.
Heading into the new year, I’m trusting that God is in control and the only thing I need to worry about is just doing “the next right thing” and being dedicated to praying for the broken places (including those within myself). I also am being intentional about having a heart shift towards both gratitude and reconciliation. I don’t believe we’re meant to live in fear, darkness, and brokenness and I’m ready to step back into the light. I know life is full of highs and lows so this year will certainly see more curveballs come my way, but I hope I’m better prepared this time around to handle them with grace and an eternal perspective.
Speaking of curveballs and gratitude, I was diagnosed with the flu on New Year’s Eve and have been feeling pretty miserable with temperatures that consistently stayed above 104. While it’s unfortunate to get sick, I have been absolutely blown away by the number of people who have reached out to check on me, sent me wellness goodies, and prayed for me. I am so humbled to have such an amazing support system in my life and for that I am truly GRATEFUL!
What are you focusing on heading into the new year?

In a world of computers, everything is digital, and when you get down to it, that means everything is expressed in 1s and 0s. In order for computers to keep track of all of the 1s and 0s, they group and organize information. They do this for calculating things on a computer, storing pictures on a flash drive, and even liking posts on social media.
