The CK Daily – The Final Countdown
Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.
This week has gone by pretty quickly. I’ve been spending lots of time doing various work in the nursery and starting the process of washing all the things. I will say, my least favorite thing about getting the nursery together so far has been removing all of the tags off of things. There are SO many tags on every little thing and those little plastic clear tags that hold everything together that you have to search for on blankets and clothes, drive me NUTS. Anywho, we’re on the homestretch and are officially (as of today!) on the one-month countdown to the due date. We’re on the final countdown, if you will.
Also, I’ve been making some great progress on my goal of reading 26 books this year. I’m still behind on my goal but am quickly starting to make some great progress. I decided that rather than watching TV shows in the background while I’m working, I would give audiobooks and try and I am loving it! I started a book early this week and will likely finish it today. Are you a fan of audiobooks?
If you have any reading recommendations, send them my way! Have a great rest of the week!

Learning Center Article – Single Mode vs Multimode Fiber Cables
Fiber optics are essential for building the most capable networks, but when making design choices, there are plenty of options that serve fiber optics in general. One of the primary choices available to any network engineer exists between single-mode fiber and multimode fiber.

- The Inform Act, a bipartisan bill that takes effect Tuesday, requires online marketplaces to disclose and verify the identity of its sellers to deter the sale of stolen, counterfeit or harmful products. The bill came after retailers and trade groups lobbied Congress and blamed online marketplaces, such as eBay and Amazon, for what they called a surge in retail theft. Online marketplaces that don’t comply with the law could face more than $50,000 in fines for each violation.
- Fanatics increased its offer from $150 million to $225 million to acquire PointsBet’s U.S. assets. The PointsBet board unanimously approved and recommended the proposal and will vote on it Thursday night.
- Samsung Electronics on Wednesday laid out its roadmap to expand its chip manufacturing business, including leading-edge chips, as it looks to catch up with leader TSMC. Samsung said it will begin mass production of the 2-nanometer process for mobile applications in 2025, then expand to high-performance computing in 2026 and to automotive in 2027.
