The CK Daily – Getting in the Spirit
I have to admit I am completely thrown off on what day it is right now. Most people are dealing with adjusting to the time, but I am still adjusting to the days. I guess time off will do that to you especially when there is a time change in the middle of it.
After a very nice vacation and a few days away, it has been nice to get back into the swing of things with life and work since I got back Tuesday. Breaking away from the daily routine is nice but jumping back into it after that break is nice too, except for the part where you have to play catch up on emails. Haha! While digging out of the work I missed and washing clothes, I am trying to get myself motivated and encouraged with my health journey (especially after the vacation). The running has been a VERY slow progression back from the knee injury. It is still letting me know it is not 100% at times. I have a 5k race Saturday morning to test it out back on the road. I have been doing stretches and knee exercises like crazy. I am both excited and nervous about doing the race and my knee holding up. I don’t even have to place, I just want to finish it. Haha!
In the spirit of prepping for the race and trying to get my mind in the right place with the knee stuff, what are some motivational quotes that you go to for your mind to get in the right place, get pumped up, or be encouraged to push forward?

- Target has turned one of its into its most sustainable store. Solar panels on the roof and carports will power the entire store, from its refrigeration to its heating and air conditioning. It could become a new model for the national retailer, as it sets goals to reduce carbon emissions and works to signal to customers and investors that it’s serious about sustainability.
- DoorDash said it’s starting a gas rewards program to offset rising prices at the pump. The food delivery company is taking a different approach than Lyft and Uber, which are raising consumer costs to assist drivers. All U.S. delivery drivers will be eligible for 10% cash back on gas through a prepaid business Visa debit card.
- Netflix will soon launch a test letting primary account holders pay an additional fee for users outside their households — a new attempt by the company to address illicit password-sharing.
- NASA’s next-generation moon rocket is set to make a highly anticipated, slow-motion journey from an assembly plant to its launch pad in Florida for a final round of tests in the coming weeks that will determine how soon the spacecraft can fly.
