The CK Daily – This One’s for You, Mom!
Hello everyone! It’s Friday again!
We’re heading into the weekend—and not just any weekend—it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday!
I’m extra excited because aside from celebrating my mom, we just got some good news: our fencing permit was finally approved! After months of waiting and saving up, we can now start building a permanent fence for our home. It’s one of the gifts I’ve been hoping to give her, and I’m so grateful it’s finally happening.
Seeing my mom happy is one of the most fulfilling feelings ever. She’s not perfect, but she’s everything to us. Her strength, love, and sacrifices never go unnoticed. I hope that when it’s my turn to become a mom, I can be even half as amazing as she is.
To all the wonderful moms out there—Happy Mother’s Day in advance! You are appreciated more than words can say. 💐
How are you celebrating this weekend? Any special plans for the moms in your life?

Today’s News to Start Your Day:
- OpenAI is making its ChatGPT even more powerful by adding a new feature that helps developers better understand and work with code stored on GitHub. This upgrade, still in its testing phase, allows users to ask ChatGPT deep questions about entire codebases and technical documents, like a supercharged coding assistant.
- Instagram struggles against TikTok competition. Fewer people were using it or spending time on it, and part of the blame was on the rise of TikTok, which quickly grabbed users’ attention.
- Some coffee shops across the country are cutting off WiFi and banning laptops to discourage remote workers from camping out all day. The move targets so-called “Zoom squatters” who turn cafes into makeshift offices — and not everyone is thrilled.
- Starting May 12, Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge resort will be closed for refurbishment, which is a bummer for anyone hoping to grab some barbecue at the lively restaurant in the coming weeks. The closure is a temporary one, and they’re scheduled to be up and running again on May 21, according to the Walt Disney World website.
