April 28, 2020 by Craig Haynie

I hope you find today’s edition of the CEO Daily helpful. If you have tips, tricks, encouraging words, or something light-hearted to share, please let me know and I will try to include them in future emails! Also, I would greatly appreciate your feedback on any of the subjects below!

Tuesday Highlights:

  • Face Masks
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Customer Feedback
  • Customer Spotlight
  • Tips of the Day
  • Tee Hee Hee
  • CK Inventory Updates
  • Today’s COVID-19 updates

Face Masks:

10,000 KN95’s and 20,000 disposable masks should be here by Thursday or Friday. I have also located a domestic source for masks and will have them on the site soon. Literally MILLIONS of masks are available. They are a little more expensive but are available right away. WILL EMAIL LINKS TO THE NEW MASKS SOON.

Hand Sanitizer:

We will have 16oz, ½ gallons, and gallons of hand sanitizer available on the site in the next day or two. We have 3456 gallons in stock in our warehouse as of yesterday. We just need to get them added to the site. We will be getting the other sizes within a couple of days. I will send an update with a link the moment we do.

Customer Feedback:

“Just so you know, your email is one I look forward to every day! Thank you for putting such good information out there. You are first class.”

Chris A .

WOW … what a compliment! Thank you so much. I never thought I would be able to put these together day after day, and honestly some days I am anxious or tired and then I get an email like this. In the words of Bette Midler – you are the wind beneath … the covers. Maybe that was Ray Stephens. — Craig

Customer Spotlight:

If you would like to be highlighted in a future email, let me know a little about your company, role, or mission in life!

Tip of the Day:

Create a Go-to-Work Ritual – by Michael Hyatt

Working at home offers a lot of advantages, including casual dress and zero commuting time. But there’s a tradeoff. Getting dressed for work and driving to the office play an important role in getting you psychologically ready to work. Without them, it can be difficult to get your mind to focus. In the same way, driving home provides time to unwind. Both transitions are important: from home to work and from work to home.

The solution is to add a transitional step to your morning routine. That might be as simple as putting on shoes instead of slippers or taking a walk around the block. It can be anything that signals, “It’s time to shift into work mode.” You can create a similar transition from work to home, maybe the same one in reverse. Try it, and see if it doesn’t boost your focus!

Tee Hee Hee:

Here’s one for the kids. I find it quite funny myself. (and my 4 and 6-year-olds love it)

CK ” Work from Home” Inventory Updates:

Update: Nothing new to report. Let me know if you need anything you don’t see.

Top “work from home / remote working” products. Our team has been working hard to build this section out. If you have any suggestions or questions, please let me know!

Cisco Phones: Sales have been through the roof on our Cisco phones lately: As Trump says, “They are really terrific phones. Very clean, like new, new cord, new box, I don’t know how you would know they were not brand new. Other phones out there? Total disasters! Junk! Don’t even think about it. Believe me”. And he’s right – our phones are PERFECT and a fraction of the cost of new. If we don’t have what you need, let me know.

Real-time inventory on: CP-PWR-CUBE-4, PoE injectors, Cisco AIR-PWRINJ4, AC Power Cords, and Ethernet Cables.

New products in the works: Small (4-6 port) PoE Switches, Webcams, HDMI Cables, HDMI Splitters/Switches, USB Ethernet Adapters, USB-C Hubs, USB-C HDMI Adapters. I would LOVE your opinions as we work to research and add these items. (Or what other items you’d like to see us add)

Please let me know how I can be of service to you. If you need help, advice, or even if you just need someone to pray for you, I am here and listening.

Blessings,

Craig Haynie – CEO

Today’s COVID-19 Updates:

  • Almost 932,000 people worldwide have recovered and almost 140,000 people in the US have recovered! This is great news!
  • California beaches were swarmed with visitors over the weekend, prompting a discussion about easing stay-at-home orders and beach access during a spring heatwave. Although the entire state is under a lockdown, local authorities retain control of the beaches. Newport Beach city council plans to vote on closing the local beaches this week; LA and San Diego have kept their beaches closed.
  • Microsoft is here to save us from pointless fights about continuing versus easing pandemic lockdown measures, by enabling pointless fights about whether sentences should end with one space or two. New versions of Word will mark two spaces after the period as a grammatical error, unless the user overrides the default settings. No Word on Microsoft’s plans for the lauded, hated, and controversial Oxford comma.
  • New York has cancelled its June Democratic presidential primary, which had been rescheduled once due to the virus. Fear of continuing virus issues, and the cessation of Bernie Sanders’ campaign, led to the decision. The state cancelled its Republican primary in February due to a lack of a contested vote. Supporters of Mr. Sanders are expected to protest the June cancellation.
  • SBA’s Paycheck Protection Plan portal crashed yesterday, about an hour after the renewed program opened up to banks to process new borrower applications. The package approved last week to re-fund the program added $310B for small business lending.
  • America’s food supply chain is in trouble because of coronavirus outbreaks in rural meatpacking plant communities. For consumers, this means less meat at the grocery store. For many farmers, this means the prospect of financial ruin. For many animals, this means euthanasia instead of slaughter. More than 25% of U.S. pork production is now offline because of plant closures, WashPost reports, citing industry analysts.
  • Based on a study done by StudyFinds, 1,895 U.S. citizens over the age of 18 were surveyed earlier this month, and 72% said they expect to reach a “breaking point” by mid-June if stay-at-home orders aren’t lifted. In fact, 100% of respondents said they would snap if this all lasts for longer than six months. The survey was conducted between April 3rd and 6th, and at that time, 16% said they had already hit their breaking point, with that number rising to 25% within the next two weeks. That would indicate that one in four Americans have likely reached wits’ end by now.
  • Expanded testing suggests that nearly 1 in 4 New Yorkers have contracted coronavirus since the pandemic tore into the city last month, Gov. Cuomo said Monday. Some 24.7% of people tested at random in the five boroughs had coronavirus antibodies, meaning they have had the deadly disease and recovered. The figures mean about two million New York City residents have had the virus.
