The Cisco SFP-10G-SR-S optical transceiver provides digital optical monitoring capability for short reach (SR) fibre optic networks using a wavelength of 850nm.
The 10GBASE-SR-S supports the standard Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) and enables the monitoring and analysis of the performance of optical network by providing a 10Gbps throughput over a range of 300m.
The module supports a link length of 26m on standard FDDI-grade MMF, which is a type of fiber optic cable that is commonly used in networking applications. However, by using higher-grade MMF, such as OM3 or OM4, the link length can be extended to up to 300m or 400m, respectively.
This hot swappable transceiver is easy to install and guarantees optimal performance on low power consumption, providing digital diagnostics monitoring and data trafficking via a 2-wire serial interface.
Support for Digital optical monitoring (DOM) for real-time operating, enables the detection of signal degradation, loss of power and connectivity to be identifyed at the earliest and troubleshoot any issues, ensuring the smooth operation of the network.
The module is compliant to work with a wide range of networking equipment such as switches, routers and different network interface cards.
Provides optical interoperability with 10GBASE XENPAK, X2 and XFP interfaces on the same link.
