The Cisco 40GBASE-LR4 QSFP- Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable module offers a high-density and low power 40 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over link lengths of up to 10 kilometre and a wavelength of 1310nm over a standard pair of G.652 single-mode fiber with duplex LC connectors.
The 40 Gigabit Ethernet signal is carried over by four bidirectional independent channels with each channel running at a data rate of 10Gbps. It uses a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technique to multiplex and demultiplex signals over a single fiber. QSFP-40G-LR4-S does not support FCoE.
This transceiver is compliant with QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-LR4 and OTU3 C4S1-2D1 standard. It is inter-operable with other IEEE-compliant 40GBASE interfaces where applicable. DOM/DDM - Digital diagnostics functions are available via the I2C interface, in accordance with the QSFP+ MSA, allowing access to real-time operating parameters.
This easy to install, hot swappable transceiver is suitable to be used in various applications, such as data centres, high-performance computing networks, enterprise core and distribution layer applications.
