The DL380-G8 has the backbone of the industry leading DL360, but has more flexibility with having a 2RU design rather than a 1RU design. Generation seven is supported by more UPS systems along with more options for hard drives for the everyday client. This capable 2RU not only has smart power and cooling management, it also comes equipped with fault tolerance (This is the ability for the server to operate if one component fails). The DL380 G8 has redundant fans, power supplies, and mirrored memory. The 2RU designed will allow for six PCI-E slots and comes standard supporting up to eight hard drive and can be upgraded to sixteen hard drive bays if needed. The G8 server is capable of 768GB of total memory.
