The Cisco SF300 and SG300 belong to the family of Cisco 300 Small Business Series range of networking solutions. For smooth operation of the switch, a rack mount kit has been designed that allows the user to securely install the Cisco SF300 and the SG300 switch in a rack. The kit includes 2 extension brackets, also referred to as ears and all the required screws for mounting the switch onto the rack. The rack mount kit ensures that the switch is properly secured and organized within the rack environment.

A problem that occurs during rack mounting is the distance between the screw holes. Some racks come with a uniform distance between the holes while the others are organized into groups. Care should be taken while placing the switch in the rack so that the holes in the brackets are aligned properly.
