As a part of the Cisco aggregation services family of routers, the ASR 1002 is a compact router, designed to specifically minimize the amount of space taken up and guarantees customer satisfaction. It is the best solution where power needs to be conserved. The router is compatible with up to three half-height SPAs and offers the option for an integrated 4xGE SPA.
For better performance and efficiency, the rack mount method of mounting is preferred for the ASR 1002. The Cisco ASR1002 19" Rack Mount Kit is therefore developed to ensure secure mounting of the router and guarantees the performance required by the user.
The rack weighs 1.62 lbs and is compatible only with ASR 1002 non- X series. The rack mount should be installed where there are no hindrances, such as power strips that can damage the rack mount installation. The rack should therefore be installed at a place where there is a minimum of 3.5 inches on the front and back, for proper ventilation for the equipment. If placed otherwise, it can cause overheating of equipment.
All necessary screws and brackets are already present in the rack mount kit for its installation.
