The Dell PowerEdge R720 is an entirely new design for Dell with a 2U rather than the traditional 1RU design. The R720 has was created for the growing business that needs the ability to scale overtime. Designed to excel at running a wide range of applications and virtualization environments for both mid-size and large enterprises, the R720 has a base level higher end Intel chip (E5) along with twenty-four memory slots as well as a dual raid controllers. Some of the new features include, seven PCIe 3.0 slots plus one storage slot, higher wattage hot swappable power supplies, and up to six-teen hard drive bays. This gives the client the ability to expand with changing technologies. Total optional memory for the R720 is 768GB.
Maximize virtual machine's uptime with redundant failsafe hypervisors and enable complex virtualization environments in just a few clicks wtih Dell's Virtual Inegrated System solution (VIS).
Use Dell OpenManage to manage servers in physical, virtual, local, and remote environments. OpenManage also connects and integrates to third-party systems management solutions.
