Cisco Catalyst 2960X FlexStack-Plus, is an optional module that can be used with Cisco Catalyst 2960X series switches to provide stacking capabilities allowing multiple switches to be connected to operate as a single logical unit for a flexible network management.
The C2960X-STACK module connects to the back of the Catalyst 2960X switch to provide up to 80 Gbps of bidirectional stack bandwidth. It supports the FlexStack-Plus stacking technology, which allows up to 8 switches to be stacked together with a single master switch managing the entire stack. The module can be easily installed or removed without powering off the switch.
The Stack module is hot swappable and can be added to any Cisco Catalyst 2960-X or 2960-XR Series Switch with a FlexStack-Plus slot. Switches connected to a stack will automatically upgrade to the stack’s Cisco IOS Software version and transparently join the stack without any additional intervention.
FlexStack-Plus is backward compatible with FlexStack thereby protecting the organizational investment. Cisco Catalyst 2960-X LAN Base switches equipped with a FlexStack-Plus module can be stacked with Cisco Catalyst 2960-S and 2960-SF LAN Base switches equipped with a FlexStack module to provide network flexibility and scalability.
