The CK Daily – Hope for Election Day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! If you\u2019ve somehow been living under a rock for the past 18 months or so\u2026 stay there and send me the address!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All joking aside, I\u2019m SURE you are aware that today is Election Day! This day can bring a lot of anxiety, no matter who you voted for or plan to vote for. Presidential elections are a big deal as they shape the direction of our country, so it\u2019s natural that we would be feeling a little anxious and on edge as we await the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recently read an article in Christianity Today that stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how the vote will go next week, but here\u2019s one thing I can guarantee: Most Americans will feel unhappy, unrepresented, and unheard. I\u2019m counting everyone who voted for the losing major-party candidate, everyone who voted third party, and everyone who was too discouraged by the choices put before us to vote at all. Even millions who vote for the winner won\u2019t be thrilled. Polling shows three in four Americans are part of the \u201cexhausted majority,\u201d those who hold dissimilar policy views but also think \u201cour differences aren\u2019t so great that we can\u2019t work together.\u201d Exhausted majority members aren\u2019t raging partisans, and we make up a significant part of the population in every state. We\u2019d all do well to remember that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s an interesting perspective that shows that, no matter which \u201cside you\u2019re on,\u201d you\u2019re probably going to be feeling a little disappointed at some level \u2013 even if your candidate wins. With such an inflammatory media that loves to sow division and paint those who vote differently from us as an \u201cenemy,\u201d this quote is a good reminder that so many of us are tired of all the divisiveness and share a lot more common ground than we think. Most of us aren\u2019t raging partisans in love with our candidate of choice, but rather friends and neighbors who want good things for our country and just are making the best decision we can with the options we have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, let\u2019s approach Election Day with integrity, compassion, and grace. I know so many of us are praying for our country and remembering that, ultimately, Jesus is still on the throne no matter the results. Let\u2019s lean into that peace today, knowing we share a hope far greater than anything on a ballot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
