The CK Daily – A Week of Celebrations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Happy Friday, folks! This week is exciting! Of course, we celebrated Independence Day on the 4th. But the other exciting event around our house is my oldest daughter turned 14 this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I reflect on her birthdays, it’s fun to see how the birthday celebrations have changed over time. The first few were influenced by what we wanted (cake, anyone?). Now, we let her decide most, maybe even all, of the details. This year she has a few friends coming over and wants a very long water slide on the downhill portion of our yard. So we have purchased a roll of plastic sheeting and will put a blow-up pool at the bottom to slow them down (otherwise, they would slide into trees at the woodline!). Here is a video that shows what I’m talking about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
