The CK Daily – A Memorial Day Reflection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got to spend a little time at the pool, hung out with the family, and ate plenty of delicious food! It was a nice unofficial kickoff to Summer, but even with all the fun, Memorial Day really is a somber holiday. I spent plenty of time reflecting on what the day is all about and remembering those who gave their lives so that we can live safe and free here in the USA. I\u2019m so humbled and thankful that throughout our history we\u2019ve had brave soldiers willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for the country they loved and believed in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obviously, we\u2019ll never be able to personally thank them, but I do wonder what they\u2019d say if we were able to talk. I wonder how they would answer the question \u201cwas it worth it?\u201d. Has our country lived up to what they envisioned it would be? We\u2019ll never get to have the actual conversation with them, but it\u2019s a question worth pondering ourselves. Are we living in a way that honors their sacrifice in the way that we treat each other? The way we seek and hold political office? The way we advance the values of freedom, liberty, and justice for all?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are so blessed to live in this great country and I hope that Memorial Day can serve as a reminder of just how blessed we are, and the responsibility that comes along with that! Hope everyone has a great week!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
