I know I do.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday was a tough one at our house. It seemed like there were issues with everything we tried to do. I had a simple art project for the kids to start our school week out on a fun note. (Note to self: This notion of fun should probably be avoided. Mondays must be trying to tell me they are for serious business only.) The supplies I laid out weren&#8217;t working, so I went to look for more. The kids took that opportunity to get up and play with their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fatbraintoys.com\/toy_companies\/educators_resource\/gonge_riverstones.cfm\">stepping stones<\/a>. As I&#8217;m rounding them up to come back to the table, I&#8217;m thinking we&#8217;re going to have to abandon this project to hit our time line today if these new supplies don&#8217;t work. Then the door bell rings. It felt like *insert hair on fire emoji* haha.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I went through some meetings in the afternoon, I found out I was in good company. Many voiced to me that they had the same sort of Monday. Just one of those days, as they say.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To avoid the Monday blues carrying over into Tuesday, I&#8217;m practicing a little purposeful thankfulness. Join me?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am thankful for: being able to watch my children learn and grow, projects being completed at our house (sabbaticals are great for honey-do lists), productive business meetings, Starbucks + pumpkin spice&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What are you thankful for today?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christin&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PS&#8230;a quick&nbsp;product spotlight&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\/safety-supplies\/thermometers\/pulse-oximeter\/pro-18921\/\">Pulse Oximeter&nbsp;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you have one of these little guys? I think they&#8217;re handy, another piece of data in the &#8220;how serious is this sickness?&#8221; puzzle.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I bought a pulse oximeter after our oldest daughter was hospitalized with RSV when she was 3 years old. She was born early (at 33 weeks) but as she grew was hardly ever sick. This time she was running a pretty high fever for several days, so I took her to the doctor. I was shocked when instead of heading home, we were headed to the hospital. Her O2 wouldn&#8217;t hit 90 even after a breathing treatment. I had no idea she was that sick, and I felt like the worst mom ever. That experience changed my outlook in many ways &#8211; and it prompted me to buy my own little pulse ox for home. I will never be in that position again! Thankfully she recovered quickly after they found the best antibiotic for her pneumonia. When speed and expertise are required, a command decision might work best. A consultation style works better in situations demanding high quality decisions. When buy-in is crucial a consensus may be appropriate. Whatever the situation, leaders must at times make and\/or deliver decisions that are unpleasant or unpopular. Tough decisions must be delivered in a clear and concise manner. When the decision is final, it must be presented factually and without debate or argument.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LEVERAGING THE MOMENT:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select the decision style most appropriate to the situation.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Make your decisions and move on.
