Happy Thursday!  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are a mere one day away from the glorious weekend! Do you have anything interesting planned?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My new Macbook Pro: Moving to a new computer <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bought a new Macbook Pro last week to replace the one I had. It was having some funky issues and I DO NOT play when it comes to my computer having issues. I will allow a tad bit of troubleshooting but if that doesn\u2019t solve the issue completely, I am buying a new one. I do not ever reformat the one I have \u2026 I buy a new one, get completely up and running, and then format and sell the old one, or pass is to someone else in the company that is due for a refresh.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have learned the hard way that when you format the computer you are using you are just asking for trouble. I have had issues that kept me down for a couple days, I have lost data because I didn\u2019t remember everything I needed to move over, etc. Then you are without a computer “until”. Nope. I buy the new one, start getting things working on it as I have time, and when I am completely done, I give myself several days or a week to make sure I don\u2019t realize something I am missing from the old one before I wipe it.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this switch over it took me two days to realize I didn\u2019t move my email signatures over from the old Outlook to the new one. You would think that using Office365 would cause those to move automatically, but alas, the work is mine. I have 11 email accounts each with their own signature. Fortunately my old machine isn’t wiped yet. \ud83d\ude09  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My last Macbook Pro was the 13″ and I really loved it. Small, powerful, and super portable. This time, I was on the fence but at the suggestion of my IT guy I went for the 16″. It is more powerful than the new 13″ and of course has a bigger screen. I was nervous when it was on the way – I really didn\u2019t know if I would like the bigger screen \/ bigger form factor. I was a little shocked when I opened the screen but in just a short while I was thinking “OMG – this is amazing”. It removes any desire I might have had for using a monitor, and it fits in my same laptop bag so the only thing that changed was the weight. And I am not joking – I had a book that stayed in my bag that I never read. I removed it and now the bag is back to what I am used to.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn\u2019t intend to do a 16″ Macbook Pro product review in this email but it sorta feels like I did – ha!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Annnnyway, this weekend I will prob polish up a few settings and make sure I have everything I need from the old one before I format it. If you’re in the market for a one year old 13″ Macbook Pro that\u2019s worth roughly $1300 let me know. \ud83d\ude09 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a prayer request for you \u2026 I have a dear friend who is 65 and just found out he has cancer of the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine immediately beyond the stomach). He has an AMAZING attitude about it, trusts the Lord, and has great doctors. If you think of my friend Mike, would you ask the Lord for his healing, comfort, and for the Lord’s will to be done in and through his life as he navigates this?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Over 10,730,000 people worldwide have recovered and over 2,245,000 people in the US have recovered! The death toll in the US stands at 153,800.<\/strong><\/li>
  • Johnson & Johnson launched human trials of its potential novel coronavirus vaccine in the United States on Thursday after an encouraging study showed that a single shot of the vaccine appeared to protect monkeys against infection. Other vaccine technologies currently in the last stages of U.S. human testing require two doses to be given weeks apart.<\/li>
  • The U.S. economy contracted by 9.5 percent in the second quarter \u2014 the largest drop on record, and the latest, sobering reflection of the pandemic\u2019s & shutdown’s economic devastation.<\/li>
  • After learning that Rep. Louie Goh\u00admert (R-Tex.) tested positive for the coronavirus, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) made masks mandatory on the House floor. Gohmert says he will be taking hydroxychloroquine, the antimalarial drug pushed by President Trump.<\/li>
  • Florida will close all of its state-run coronavirus testing sites over the weekend as a tropical storm approaches, highlighting how hurricane season might make it harder for some hot spots to respond to the pandemic.<\/li>
  • Medical officials in Britain announced Thursday that the isolation period required for those with symptoms of the coronavirus would be extended from one week to 10 days. The change in health and safety guidance was declared after Health Secretary Matt Hancock expressed concern about the threat of a second coronavirus wave and said the government would be taking protective steps to \u201ctackle\u201d transmission of infections and keep the country safe.<\/li>
