My first day at work and I\u2019m excited to be the new network admin. They said the last network admin they had left abruptly. (Not sure what that was about). This is my first entry, and I\u2019m stoked to get to work!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 20<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I just love the hum of our server room. Some of our equipment is acting a little funny. I\u2019m going to look into replacing a few of the switches we have here; they seem pretty new, but I have a feeling they might cause me trouble in the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 31<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Things are going pretty smoothly after the first month. Had to replace some of our equipment after each one failed to boot. But no biggie, replacing equipment is part of the job. Just hope this isn\u2019t going to be a continuing problem. It\u2019s taking up a lot of my time and the company\u2019s money.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 38<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Our replacement equipment arrived but looks like they are DOA. The company I bought them from doesn\u2019t accept returns after a few days, so I\u2019ll have to buy some more equipment. I\u2019m not too worried since we are still on budget. Can\u2019t help, but wonder how often this will happen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.cablesandkits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/D40.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2103 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.cablesandkits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/D40-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"D40\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/D40-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/D40-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/D40.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.cablesandkits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Day40_social.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 52<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The search continues for more replacement equipment. Things keep going down, and I\u2019m getting the blame for it. I\u2019m getting way over budget; the finance team is not going to like this\u2026 but the show must go on, right?<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 342?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Well, it\u2019s happened\u2026my prepper skills have kicked in. I\u2019m not even sure what day it is anymore. The endless phone calls and tickets involving network failure keep me up at night, and I\u2019m now literally camped in the server room &#8211; waiting for the next equipment failure to deal with. My watch says it is 8 am, but the light of day has not touched my skin in weeks, so my mind is confused. I have to get to these tickets fast. \u00a0I just need to breathe, come on Cris, you\u2019ve prepared for this!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.cablesandkits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/D343.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2105 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.cablesandkits.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/D343-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"D343\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Day 344<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I\u2019m writing this from outside; luckily Wi-Fi reaches this location. I\u2019m in full BUG-OUT mode! I had to escape the server room, and I think I\u2019ve blown the budget for 2016 and 2017 combined. Just got an email from CablesAndKits.com announcing they have a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\/info\/lifetime-warranty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> lifetime warranty<\/a> on all of their equipment. I cannot believe this! They\u2019ll even PAY for shipping to return any faulty equipment. This must be a trick sent from our enemies. I must stay hidden and live off the land until it\u2019s safe to come back. Good thing I have my canned Spam and a bundle of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\/ethernet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ethernet<\/a> cables. I have yet to replace any equipment purchased from<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> CablesAndKits.com<\/a>. The tickets have stopped coming. The phone\u2026 doesn\u2019t ring anymore.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Day 31 <\/strong>(<strong>Post\u00a0Lifetime Warranty<\/strong>)<\/h3>\n<p>Our network is running strong. No replacements needed yet, but when the time comes, I know I\u2019m in safe hands. CablesAndKits.com is committed to helping me. It\u2019s all smooth sailing from here. I feel safe enough to stop bringing my machete to work. Now to start prepping for the zombie apocalypse (I am not sure why people are not talking about this\u2026its coming people!
