Navigate Recovery<\/a> is Gwinnett\u2019s only recovery community organization dedicated to changing the way addiction is treated in Gwinnett County, Georgia. This organization acts as a clearinghouse for services and opens the lines of communication to provide better outcomes for addiction sufferers and their families.<\/p>\n

At CablesAndKits, one of our core values is to Serve Others<\/a> and what better way to do that than to support an organization like Navigate Recovery Gwinnett.\u00a0 This past weekend, CablesAndKits supported Navigate Recovery Gwinnett in taking part in their 5K Run\/Walk. This event was created to support and celebrate those who are on the road to rehabilitation and to show others recovery is possible!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Some of CablesAndKits\u2019 employees proved themselves to be speedy runners and brisk-paced walkers, and several ranked number one in their age groups. I asked our participants why it was important for them to run, walk or volunteer at the 5K and here is what they had to say:<\/p>\n

\"CK<\/a>\u201cI volunteered my photography services because we all know someone who has been directly or indirectly impacted by addiction. Personally,\u00a0my father in law battled addiction \u00a0for several\u00a0years before passing away. I never actually met him, as he passed a year before I met my wife, but I can tell that his life and death has had a major impact on my wife and her family. I can\u2019t help but wonder if there was a program like Navigate\u00a0Recovery, things could have turned out differently for my extended\u00a0family. I\u2019m comforted by the fact that this program exists to help and support families with addiction, a painful and difficult disease.\u201d – Cris\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to support the Navigate Recovery program because I have family and close friends who has struggled with drugs (including myself) in the past and some currently. So it is just kind of close to me.\u201d <\/strong>– Jeremy<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBeing part of a family who has struggled with addiction for many generations, it is important to support the recovery process.\u00a0 I know that Navigate Recovery is a much-\"CK needed tool in that process, and I believe that they fill a void that will impact thousands of people.\u201d – Julie<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The Run for Recovery was the perfect combination of two things I am passionate about\u00a0– running and seeing people set free from the horrible things that weigh them down and hold them back. Having a lot of people in my life that have struggled over the years and are still struggling with the disease of addiction, it was important for me to personally show support for Navigate Recovery and help out. This organization is needed very badly in this area and there are so many people that can be helped by it.” – Jason<\/strong><\/p>\n
