Almost all Cisco networking equipment is configured using a serial console cable (usually the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\/accessories\/console-cables\/db9-rj45-6ft\/pro-30\/\">72-3383-01<\/a> DB9 to RJ45 cable) but most new laptops (and even workstations) no longer have a DB9 serial port.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cablesandkits.com\/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=USB+to+serial\">USB to Serial<\/a> adapter.
