The AIR-CT8510-HA-K9 Wireless Controller provides 802.11ac performance and is a flexible and secure platform for your network. This Wireless Controller supports high-scale deployments that have up to 6000 access points and 64,000 clients. In addition, 4096 VLANs are available for lage-scale deployments. The 8500 series controllers also provide centralized control, management, and troubleshooting for enterprise and/or service provider deployments.
The AIR-CT8510-HA-K9 provides high availability and fault tolerance utilizing SSID high availability with sub-second acces spoint and client failover from the primary to the standby controller unit (secondary unit sold separately). There are several other features this device offers including enterprise wireless mesh, high-performance video, end to end voice, service provider wi-fi, ent to end security, RF management, and there's a feature where you can choose to turn off access point radios to reduce power consumption during off-peak hours.
